S Novym Godom!

Celebrating the new year here in London. Originally, I'd wanted to do something quite special in a cool country with special people etc, but it kind of fell through. Called it off, put it off to next year so the plan could be better and bigger etc. (Damn, hope tonight's celebration won't turn out to be a model for 2006: wannabe great ending up pretty lame.)

This blog has survived, probably the only personal "project" I've kept going for so long. It's seen its best times when I was travelling. I'm quite proud of some of my pix. It could turn out to be pretty amazing if I finally leave London and base myself somewhere interesting - and blog about that.

My travels this year, and the people I met, have overshadowed all the rest. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that if 2006 is to be great, it has to contain more of that - or even only that!

Let me live my promise...

Araki: the monster

I visited Araki's exhibition Self, Life, Death at the Barbican Centre. The sheer volume of images in display blew me away nearly as much as the nature of his work. The best part of probably the 80min documentary on Araki, which shows his boyish nature and amazing energy. Young models and housewives alike seem to like him. (It was the first time I had been to the Barbican - for a second I thought I had landed in the movie Resident Evil, so empty and dreary the location is.)
